AE2025 es el mayor congreso europeo sobre acuicultura, que tendrá lugar en Valencia y será organizado por el CSIC. Aquaculture Europe 2025 es un evento que espera contar con 3.000 participantes en el Palacio de Congresos de Valencia.
Este encuentro, promovido por el Instituto de Acuicultura Torre de la Sal (IATS) del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), se celebrará del 22 al 25 de septiembre. El título de AE2025 es ‘Acuicultura para todos’ y el objetivo es mostrar la compatibilidad del desarrollo de la acuicultura con la integridad ambiental y espacial de las áreas costeras, con la sostenibilidad del sector primario, el bienestar económico, la formación profesional del capital humano y con el aprendizaje de las administraciones en el campo de la acuicultura.
La candidatura de España contó con el apoyo de la Generalitat Valenciana a través de la Conselleria de Innovación, Universidad, Ciencia y Digitalización, el Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación, el Observatorio Español de la Acuicultura y fue coordinada por la Fundación Biodiversidad del Ministerio para la Transición Ecológica y el Reto Demográfico, la Asociación Española de Productores Acuícolas, la Plataforma Tecnológica Española de Pesca y Acuicultura (PTEPA) y el Ayuntamiento de València.
El presidente del comité organizador de este encuentro es Jaume Pérez, profesor de investigación del CSIC en el Instituto de Acuicultura Torre de la Sal (IATS) del CSIC en Castellón, referencia en la investigación en acuicultura. Además, el IATS es uno de los coordinadores del programa de investigación en Ciencias Marinas de la Comunitat Valenciana ThinkinAzul, financiado por el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación y la Conselleria de Innovación, Universidad, Ciencia y Digitalización de la Generalitat, programa al que pertenece nuestro grupo de trabajo dedicado a la divulgación del conocimiento del patrimonio cultural y natural marino en infancia y juventud.
El hecho de que un evento de tal envergadura se celebre en Valencia, pone de manifiesto la importancia de la acuicultura en la zona, siendo una de las áreas acuícolas más importantes de España, tanto a nivel de producción como en investigación de ciencias de la acuicultura.

AE2025 is the largest European congress on aquaculture, which will take place in Valencia and will be organized by the CSIC. Aquaculture Europe 2025 is an event that expects to host 3,000 participants at the Valencia Conference Center.
This meeting, promoted by the Institute of Aquaculture Torre de la Sal (IATS) of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), will be held from September 22nd to 25th. The title of AE2025 is ‘Aquaculture for Everyone,’ and the objective is to demonstrate the compatibility of aquaculture development with the environmental and spatial integrity of coastal areas, with the sustainability of the primary sector, economic well-being, professional training of human capital, and with the learning of administrations in the field of aquaculture.
Spain’s bid had the support of the Valencian Government through the Ministry of Innovation, University, Science and Digitalization, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, the Spanish Aquaculture Observatory, and was coordinated by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, the Spanish Aquaculture Producers Association, the Spanish Technological Platform for Fisheries and Aquaculture (PTEPA), and the Valencia City Council.
The president of the organizing committee for this meeting is Jaume Pérez, a research professor at the CSIC in the Institute of Aquaculture Torre de la Sal (IATS) in Castellón, a reference in aquaculture research. In addition, the IATS is one of the coordinators of the research program in Marine Sciences of the Valencian Community ThinkinAzul, funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Ministry of Innovation, University, Science and Digitalization of the Generalitat, a program to which our working group dedicated to the dissemination of knowledge of marine cultural and natural heritage in childhood and youth belongs.
The fact that such a large-scale event is held in Valencia highlights the importance of aquaculture in the area, being one of the most important aquaculture areas in Spain, both in terms of production and research in aquaculture sciences.
